In Pursuit of Olympic Glory: Five Facts About Traveling to the Olympic Games

Despite hailing from the only city with the dubious distinction of turning down the Olympic Games, I love the Olympics. I love the ceremonies, the traditions, the obscure sports, and the competition. Plus, it's the only time where I can get extremely passionate and argumentative about the merit of archers from Kyrgyzstan and not be labeled a nutcase. So when the Olympics came to Vancouver in 2010, I made attending a priority. But planning for the Olympic games isn't like planning for a normal vacation; there are many more factors to take into consideration. Hundreds of thousands of people descend...

Travel Rinse Repeat’s Seven Super Shots

The good folks at Hostelbookers created this little game called 'Seven Super Shots' that encourages travel bloggers to share seven of their favorite photos from their travels in the seven specified categories. They are even expanding to several international...

Losing Myself in the Sites of Stanley Park – Vancouver, British Columbia

Stanley Park is Vancouver's place to get away from it all - right in the middle of the city. Occupying almost 1/3 of the island where downtown Vancouver sits, the park is a respite from city life. There are dozens of attractions in Stanley Park and it would take days to experience them all. But with my limited time in Vancouver, I wanted to focus on five in particular. Exploring the Forest Stanley Park is unique among most urban parks in that it was left in a very natural state. Neglecting the trend of finely manicured parks designed with organized recreation in mind, Stanley Park embraces...
