Travel Rinse Repeat Roundup – February 19th, 2012

John's Note - The Travel Rinse Repeat Roundup is a new feature on Travel Rinse Repeat where I'll be providing useful links, updates on old articles, and other interesting info that just doesn't warrant an entire post. Coca-Cola - Still Poisoning Children in Louisiana - Okay, maybe that title is a bit sensational. In my article on visiting The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, I wrote about Delaware Punch, a drink I sampled that supposedly isn't sold in the US anymore due to a key ingredient that causes behavioral modification in young children. As I was leaving the Baton Rouge airport, I was shocked...

Five Little Stories from Little Five Points – The Best Damn Neighborhood in Atlanta

When I first visited Atlanta, I was a little too hard on it. All I saw was a blighted urban core and then immense suburban sprawl in every direction. I thought the city lacked character...everything looked homogeneous, there were chain restaurants everywhere, and it seemed like going anywhere involved getting on a highway. But as I began to spend more time in the city, I realized how wrong I was. Atlanta is a HUGE city. The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia – It’s Better Down Where it’s Wetter

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of animal attractions when I travel. Whether it’s seeking out animals in their natural habitats or seeing what different zoos and aquariums around the world have to offer, I’m always intrigued when visiting these places. The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia – Bottling Happiness Laced with Corn Syrup

I originally visited Atlanta (and the World of Coca-Cola) in 2006. I remember the tour being interesting and I learned a great deal about Coca-Cola in the process. However, I remember thinking that the exhibit was tired, old, and out of date. It was built in the 1980's, and it looked as though it hadn't seen and update since. But I learned during that visit that they were actually in the process of developing an constructing an entirely new World of Coca-Cola - not just revamping the old one, but starting all over again in a new building. The idea behind this was that Coca-Cola is an ever evolving...
