My infatuation with the smoky meat started with a former boss of mine who was from Austin, Texas. He taught me all about Texas barbecue and we made a point to try every single barbecue restaurant in south Denver on our lunch breaks. Through that experience, I learned what I liked and what I didn’t like about barbecue. It lists the quirky, odd, eccentric, and unusual attractions that usually don’t make it into the guidebooks. Welcome to the next edition of The Travel Rinse Repeat Roundup from Kansas, USA! I've been traveling throughout the great Sunflower state, from Kansas City (which is actually primarily in Missouri) to the college towns of Lawrence and Manhattan, to the cities of Wichita and Topeka and finally ending up right back where I started in KC.
